Whole-Day School Absences
For students absent from the entire school day. A full-day absence automatically marks scheduled instructional sessions absent. When the student arrives, enter the arrival time: earlier missed periods remain absent; later periods return to normal teacher marking. Automatically generated corrections retain an audit trail.
To correct an existing entry, select the same student and date, update the type/note and enter the correction reason when prompted. Use Cancel on a recorded absence to void it with an audit trail.

Session attendance
Choose day, teacher, and session to load the correct roster. The day selector adjusts the date to that weekday in the selected week. Each period is recorded separately. Arabic/Qur'an classes require roster matching before use.
Session roster
Roster changes take effect from the selected date forward. Existing attendance history is retained.
Tardy and Extreme Tardy are separate codes. Enter minutes late; extreme-tardy threshold must be set by school policy. Add or remove students from this session roster using the roster controls. Change any saved status and click Save correction; an explanation is required. Void a mark only if it was entered in error. All corrections require a reason and remain in the audit history.

Important delivery distinction
Alert records are created in Supabase when the attendance change is saved, and accessible to the affected student, authorized parents, administrators, and dorm staff in this page. Email, SMS, mobile push, and notifications when nobody has the app open require a separately connected delivery provider and background processing. No external message is sent by this release.
